As Temperatures Rise, So Do Elderly Health Risks


During the summer, elderly human beings are more prone to the heat, which puts them at risk for heat-related illnesses. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), senior citizens do not respond to sudden temperature changes as well as younger human beings. They are likelier to have a chronic condition affecting how the body responds to heat, and are also more likely to capture prescription medicines that affect the body's temperature control.
