The Longstanding Appeal of Superheroes
Since the 1930s and the 1940s, superheroes have provided comic textbook aficionados with a prototype of the all-American hero, who, via superhuman powers, protects the public from all danger and harm. These same comic textbook readers are all grown up today, when events occurring encircling the earth constitute all of us wish for absolute-lifetime superheroes to come along and save the day, making everything safe again for all those that live here. One of the most well loved reasons the appeal of superheroes remains a constant in our society is simply since everyone can identify with them.
