The Peterbilt Model 386 LNG Truck
Responding to the call for reduced air pollution levels, the Peterbilt Motors Corporation made the Peterbilt Imitation 386 LNG Truck. This environmentally-friendly commercial truck, one of the brainchildren of Peterbilt's Green Technologies, runs on liquefied natural gas (LNG). LNG is an alternative fuel that is cost-efficient, safe and clean. It is the first alternative-fueled vehicle to achieve SmartWay designation. The SmartWay Program encourages member companies to voluntarily embark on reducing their emissions. It is administered by the EPA and its members consist of shippers, carriers and logistics businesses.
