What Stops Managers From Mentoring and What To Do About It

I'm often questioned "shouldn't every manager be mentoring their staff?" and the answer is yes! In an ideal earth, managers would be mentoring however the reality is many don't. I reckon there are some fantastic mentoring managers outside there. I know I had one myself, at the end age I was an employee, in what became the turning mark of my career, nearly thirty years ago. However I suspect that they are also hardly any. So what gets in the path of managers mentoring? This article looks at the barriers and what you can do about them.
