The FBI Estimates That Americans Lose $40 Billion Each Year to Investment Fraud
In 2008, the FBI estimated $40 billion was lost to securities and commodities fraud with losses from seniors totaling as much as $2.6 billion. Also, one in five older Americans affirm they have experienced financial exploitation or have been targeted by someone trying to defraud them of their dense-earned savings.
