What do I mean by digging deep? How do you mine your online niche? Digging and mining both sound like dense employment; however I guess that depends on how you define those terms. If you're expect to find nuggets of online data about your niche just lying there on the Internet, waiting for you to stumble onto it, then digging and mining will feel like employment. However, if you recognize that the vein of ore that you seek is buried and protected in the rock, then it won't surprise you at all that you have to dig, and dig deep, to find what you desire. And the act of doing so will constitute what you find that much more valuable since it will not have been apparent to others.
