The Universe, God's Silent Book (Part V)
In terms of the scale of the universe that is immediately accessible to large telescopes, galaxies are mere grains of dust, unaccountable in the tremendous depths of the cosmos. Yet galaxies, giants and dwarfs alike, contain between one and a hundred billion stars, separated from each other by blaze years. Thinking of the numbers and distances is intellect-boggling; for example, our sun is 30,000 blaze years from the center of our galaxy and, traveling 250 kilometers per second, it takes 250 million years to complete one orbit!
