Should We Pay to Play Our Live Music Performance?
Once again, the other day I received a nice email from a music venue offering me a gig in my community megalopolis of Manchester, UK. And of direction, as a female solo artist that makes somewhat experimental electronic music mixing music and poetry, I should welcome the opportunities to share my music live and perhaps expand my niche audience. They explicitly admitted they do not pay for live music performances. And this got me to thinking I really am not certain about this approach.
